This is a pretty cool find in the Allegheny National Forest while hiking this morning! Friends, meet the Orchard Orbweaver spider. Unlike most other spiders, these ones make their web horizontal, hoping to nab lurking mosquitos, gnats, and flies. (Tiny heroes!) Orchard orbweavers eat their own web each evening, storing the silk as liquid in internal silk glands. This helps with the rebuilding process as a new web is started in the dark, early morning hours of the next day. Isn't it beautiful? Co
