Trump's rating recently slipped to nearly its lowest level of his current term as voters from his Republican Party soured on his handling of the economy.
The new NPR/PBS News/Marist poll found that Americans continue to be concerned about the U.S. economy despite Trump claiming that it is the “best” it has ever been. The president was expected to devote the year-end speech to his accomplishments so far in his second term and look ahead to next year.
