The Lions are currently in last place in the NFC North, representing a pretty huge fall from grace. Detroit occupies the final spot in the division, because they were swept by the Vikings this year. With a loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 18, the Lions would clinch the bottom spot in the division.

The Vikings beat the Lions because of their defense. Brian Flores' unit, which entered the game having gone seven straight weeks without allowing a passing touchdown, dominated. The Vikings forced five turnovers. They shut down Detroit's run game, and quarterback Jared Goff looked flustered.
