BUFFALO – The Florida Panthers will try to throw some cold water on the NHL’s hottest team when they battle the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center on Monday at 7 p.m. ET. Jockeying for position in a jam-packed Eastern Conference, the Panthers (23-18-3) currently trail the surging Sabres (24-15-4) by only three points in the standings.
The Buffalo Sabres 4-3 loss to the Florida Panthers on Monday was another in a recent string of third period letdowns, but unlike the previous three, the Sabres did not hold a sizable lead and could not erase a two-goal deficit in the waning moments of regulation.
The sixth-place team in the Eastern Conference, the Buffalo Sabres (24-15-4), host the 12th-ranked Florida Panthers (23-18-3) at KeyBank Center on Monday at 7 p.m. ET. Buffalo won 5-3 at home its last time out on Jan. 10 against the Anaheim Ducks.
