Thoughts on Elle and Dakota Fanning ? Could you see one of them being nominated or winning an Oscar in the future ? Even though Dakota is the better actress it does seem like Ellle will be the one to book all the bigger roles .
I’m pretty sure this was Dakota Fanning’s first real big role, and she’s had a non-stop career since. Taken won the Emmy for Best Miniseries, which is another reason it’s so surprising that it’s not more well remembered. If you’ve never seen it and are a fan of the UFO angle of science fiction, the episodes are up on YouTube.
Elle is a bit odd looking but her face definitely stands out more, very doll-like and refined, her flaws (like long-ish philtrum) look 'purposeful' somehow. Dakota has a more classic average-pretty look.
Dakota Fanning only started acting bc she hounded her parents who were athletes and wanted their kids to play sports. She was very good at it so they supported her (and later her sister too). Fanning’s parents seem to have been very supportive and they seem to have a healthy relationship.
Elle Fanning is tall with a pretty long vertical, and I’d say she’s FN. I think others on the sub have typed her that as well. She has a classic “vibe”, definitely, but suits vertical accommodation much more than balance.
It's sort of like the science fiction version of urban fantasy. Urban sci-fi? Low-fi? Whatever it is, there were several movies in the mid 2000s that were in that vein (Jumper is another), and it's something I wish I saw more of. A lot of the character interactions are really strong, particularly with Chris Evans's and Dakota Fanning's characters.
